L'Aptus est un appareil destiné à obtenir des ferrotypes.
L'esthétique de ce modèle semble soigné et être un argument de vente. Il est fabriqué en aluminium, en partie émaillé en couleurs. Le bac est en vulcanite. aucune partie n'est en caoutchouc.Le trépied est spécifique.
Il est conseillé pour les colonies.
Deux modèles d'Aptus permettaient d'avoir des photos en 2 1/2 x 1 3/4" ou en 3 1/2 x 2 1/2".
